Safety and Confined Spaces - General & Construction

The Lake County Safety Council is proud to present the February -- Confined Spaces - General and Construction -- on Friday, February 19.

The keynote speaker will be Scott Cole, Northern Ohio Safety Director, Turner Construction Company.

Cole is a board certified safety professional (CSP), LEED Green Associate as well as a certified Occupational Safety specialist (COSS).

He holds certifications from Ohio University, Ohio State University and Texas A&M University.

His safety experience includes work in manufacturing, government and construction. He currently works full time for Turner Construction Company as the Northern Ohio Business Unite Safety Director, but he also is a safety consultant and an active volunteer, supporting the safety profession.

His presentation on Friday, February 19 will include information on:

---What makes a space - confined

---Confined space program elements every company should have in its program

---2015 confined space regulatory changes in the construction industry

---And, how these changes may impact a company's business

Cole has served as the director of the Lake County Safety Council from 2008-2011, and served on the board of directors from 2004-2011. He is the past regional vice president of the American Society of Safety Engineers and currently serves on the Northern Ohio Chapter's executive committee.

The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites LaMalfa, with registration beginning at 11:15 a.m.

The cost of the event is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Reservations may be made online at the LCSC web site listed below.

Workers Compensation - Medical & Health Symposium

On March 10 and 11 a special symposium is being presented at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, 400 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43215.

The 2016 Ohio Workers’ Compensation Medical & Health Symposium is a free educational opportunity for health-care providers.

Focusing on pain and neuromusculoskel-etal management, the two-day symposium features leading national and state experts. It is being held Thursday and Friday, March 10 and 11.

The two-day, annual symposium, offers nationally-known specialists in pain management, medical ethics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, alternative medicine, radiology, neurology and orthopedic surgery.
