BWC announces New Drug-Free Safety Program

The BWC has introduced a new Drug-Free Safety Program (DFSP).

It is a proven fact that safe workplaces result in fewer accidents, lower workers’ compensation insurance costs and greater productivity and product quality.

Employers are encouraged to apply for the DFSP and take advantage of the benefits. Among other things they include:

► A better understanding of the nature and effect of abuse/misuse of drugs and/or alcohol

► A safer work environment

► The reduced frequency and severity of injury

► Improved employee morale

► Discounted workers’ compensation rates

► Reduced Social problems associated with drug and alcohol abuse/misuse

The BWC has designed the new DFSP to make it easier to use. The program has less mandates and features a streamlined focus on safety.

To apply for the DFSP visit ohiobwc.com select Ohio Employers, click on Forms and complete the Application for Drug-Free Safety Program.
